9 STITCH METHOD
9 Stitch Method is a 2 piece alternative metal band from Pittsburgh. With their wild stage presence and blend of Nu Metal and Mathcore, they have been taking their unique sound to stages across the Tri-State area and expanding.
PRIME 8 has been bringing their heavy blend of metal, jazz, hip-hop and progressive rock to audiences in Western PA since 2000. Hailed as “Pittsburgh’s experimental juggernauts”, the band’s high-energy performances and jarring sound make them a standout among other metal bands in the Pittsburgh music scene.
Prime 8 was formed by vocalist Sean Schemel and former guitarist Ian Beadnell in 2000. While Sean preferred punk, rap and indie rock, Ian was a fan of classic metal. The two agreed to disagree resulting in the aggressive chaos that is PRIME 8.
Over the years, while many members have come and gone, the band found its rhythm with the additions of drummer Charles (Chuckie) Matthews and bassist Michael (Mikey) Staab. Chuckie, has been playing drums since he was a child. Previously, he played with metal bands Reddfish and Latch, both out of Pottsville. Mikey, an army veteran, was previously active in the bands Soul Giants (classic rock and blues), Afterthought (alternative rock) and Convulsion (metal). He also participated in many open stage nights, performing jazz and blues. Together, Mikey and Chuckie use their knowledge of chord progressions and polyrhythms to inform PRIME 8’s brutal sound.
In 2014 Megan Reilly and Vincent Sparacino came on board, rounding out the band’s eclectic sound. Megan, also from Pittsburgh’s Wild Geese, saturates the band’s primal call with her Celtic-influenced licks and riffs on the violin. Vinny, also from Oregon/Pittsburgh band Buffalo, Buffalo, Buffalo, joined Ian on the guitars and the band was whole.
It was the band’s greatest moment of sorrow and suffering when Vinnie, at the age of 27, suddenly passed away in 2015. Vinnie pulled from a wide range of different interests for his inspiration; from literature, music, and philosophy to ancient history, metaphysics, and the occult. His influence on the band was profound. Before his passing, together Sean and Vinnie wrote the song, “Battle Cry”. The song was released on the band’s latest album and was renamed “The Conqueror”, in honor of Vinnie (whose name means “to conquer”).
After 19 years with the band, Ian Beadnell left Prime 8 in 2019, to spend more time with family and pursue other interests. In his place, the band found its youngest member, Alex Stupi, who lends his highly-amplified, guttural sound on lead guitar.
In July 2019, the band was thrilled to announce the addition of Joshua Hartz of “cutting edge Pittsburgh dickrock” band, God Hates Unicorns as keyboardist.
Prime 8 tours regionally, at bars, festivals, in basements, swimming pool parties, alleyways and more. They are also available for wakes and bar mitzvahs.
Prime 8 is proud to be the second band signed by Brutal Business Entertainment.
SALT THE SNAIL
Salt The Snail is an auditory assault reminiscent of the psychedelic experience. Think Yob, Navajo Witch, Weekend Nachos, and Pallbearer thrown into a blender and then sprinkled with the humor of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, in the bleak depths of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
