30 Days Of Night(Review)(Happy Horrordays #7)[Terrifying Theatrical Tuesday]
Here is another great vampire film set in the unforgiving frozen climate of Alaska. Every 30 days in winter, the town of Barrow, Alaska experiences complete darkness, and they find themselves under seige from a vampire commune that has descended upon their town.
This is based on a graphic novel of the same name, and the vampire designs used in this movie are pretty terrifying. Once again, we are dealing with vampires whose sole purpose is to kill and feed. They are pretty intelligent even going so far as to setting up traps, using humans as bait, and they even speak in their own language. Every vampire has their human thrall, and that is no different in this movie with a man who is the catalyst for the vampire invasion and thinks this will help him gain favor in order to become one of them.
This movie is very gritty, very bloody, and the ending is dark as it gets. Basically the survivors realize they are fighting a losing battle so the only way to survive is to fight the vampires on the vampire's terms. It's definitely not a happy ending for anyone involved thats for sure.
30 Days of Night had a direct to video sequel called 30 Days of Night: Dark Days. There was also a prequel mini series Blood Trails and sequel mini series Dust to Dust which were only exclusive to FearNet.
Definitely recommend watching this one if you have yet to do so as it features dealing with vampires in a harsh environment, and one of the better vampire films out there. If you already seen 30 Days of Night, feel free to leave your thoughts below!
Till next time, stay safe and Happy Horrordays!! -Tha Thrilla-
