Death Becomes Her(Review)[Twisted Throwback Thursday]
Death Becomes Her is an odd dark comedy that has Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Bruce Willis in a twisted love triangle with deadly repercussions. The plot of the movie involves Hawn's character Helen losing her lover to Streep's character Madeline vicious narcissistic charms. Madeline is obsessed with youth and beauty, so one day at a dinner party, she and Helen reunite, and to her surprise, Helen is looking very youthful and radiant. This drives Madeline over the edge until she discovers the same miracle responsible for Helen's rejuvenation. But youth comes with a price which both women learn to their chagrin.
What follows is a very hilarious affair especially as each of the women discover the unintended consequences of their miracle cure. Willis is almost unrecognizable in his role of the doomed poor sap literally stuck in the middle of the battle between Helen and Madeline. They each try to convince him they cannot survive without his care, which ends up being for very good reason, as by the end of the movie, they literally are falling apart without him. This movie is very quotable as well, with one of the best lines being "You're fraud Helen, you're a walking lie, and I can see right...THROUGH YOU!". That whole bit had me cackling as well as the scene that happens when Willis's character takes Madeline to the hospital.
Death Becomes Her is a movie that provides humor each time you view it, and still manages to entertain you. Definitely worth watching if you haven't seen the film yet.
