John Williams – “Jaws Soundtrack” (1975) Review[Musical Monday]
Updated: Jun 24
John Williams is a legend, plain and simple. Every single soundtrack he touches becomes audio gold. He is one of those composers who has the ability to create entire universes strictly through sound, and he has a recognizable sound. His pieces are always massive orchestras that cover the classic instruments, but he gives them a contemporary tempo and settings. He is able to make things bright and beautiful when they need to be regal, and he can also give them a very dark shading when they accompany scarier images. Arguably one of his most famous pieces is the soundtrack to Steven Spielberg’s ‘Jaws’. This soundtrack is so legendary that many people know the music even without having seen the film. And for that, I really don’t have much more to say. Consider this simply a piece of recognition. Happy 45th Birthday you beast.
