Mom and Dad(Review)[Terrifying Theatrical Tuesday]

We are quite familiar with Nicholas Cage the action star, but now we are becoming familiar with Nicholas Cage, the horror star. He has been hitting it out of the park so far with his roles in movies such as Mandy and Colour Out of Space, and he will be in an upcoming horror film called Willy's Wonderland which will see him in scenario out of the game Five Nights at Freddy's, which I am very much looking forward to.

We all know in a normal world, it is the parent's instinct to protect and nurture their children, but what if that instinct was reversed to cause parents to murder their progeny instead? That is the world we are introduced to as we see a mysterious communication that is being broadcasted. As one of the experts explained, maybe somebody just wants to see the human race wiped out, and sees the children as the solution. We never see who or what is responsible, all we see is the effects it has as the different parents enact heinous acts upon their children.

Cage is suited well as the father in your typical suburban family, and once he is affected by the signal, his intense acting is unleashed at its full potential. It works well here especially in a scene where he destroys a pool table he just painstakingly built.

This is a pretty intense movie throughout, it's more about survival than the killing as the two kids in Cage's family try to use everything in their arsenal to avoid becoming the next victims. What helps in this situation is the kids are nowhere near perfect. And that gives them more of an advantage. Will they ultimately survive?? That is something you will have to see the very ambiguous ending that is left to the viewers interpretation

If you haven't seen Mom and Dad yet, I highly recommend it. I enjoyed it enough. It is currently streaming on Hulu if you want to check it out. If you already seen the movie, feel free to leave your thoughts below!!

Till next time, stay safe and stay scared!! -Tha Thrilla-
