PG: Psycho Goreman(Review)[Terrifying Theatrical Tuesday]

What's the best way to describe this movie? With a title like Psycho Goreman, you think it would be pretty self explanatory, but yeah, I think the best way to describe it is think of Mighty Morphing Power Rangers, except much gorier and if the producers were on a lot of acid while making it. It's just that insane but I say this out of love because already I am considering this one of the top horror films of 2021.

The movie is about two young siblings who accidentally unearth an artifact that unleashes a demonic overlord, but then find out they can control him using said artifact. Mainly it's the bratty sister doing most of the controlling, and that even extends to her family. What really locked this one in for me is how the demon has this commanding presence and voice, and monologuing of the different ways he plans on killing the children and they just brush it off as whatever. The monster gets no respect at all from the children. The adults do recognize his threat and properly fear him. The kids just act like he is their own personal plaything, subjecting him to humiliating acts, well mainly the sister does.

There is a humor aspect which includes a montage as well as a musical performance. There are times you will find yourself laughing out loud. Though, this movie is gory as hell. Just when you think you seen enough, it just pushes the envelope more. This comes from the same person responsible for The Void, and it feels like he is really stretching his legs on what he can accomplish. And most of it is done with practical effects to boot. You will find yourselves disgusted and entertained to the very bloody end. There's also a very humorous mid-credits sequence you should stay tuned for.

I highly recommend Psycho Goreman, and I am even hopeful for a sequel. I will flat out tell you it is going to get very weird, but damn it's a good movie. As of right now, it is only available though Amazon Prime and VOD, and I am sure it will be coming to Shudder, but if you get a chance to, definitely check it out. If you already seen it, feel free to leave your thoughts below!!
