Santa's Slay(Review)(Happy Horrordays #8)[Terrifying Theatrical Tuesday]
This movie is an absolute blast to watch. It stars pro wrestler Bill Goldberg as Santa, and this Santa is out for blood. The opening scene introduces you to the insanity you are about to witness as he quickly and efficiently kills a family while quoting "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!!"
Basically the plot is Santa is an agent of Hell, though they give him a Norse origin story as well. I guess they were trying to link him to Krampus but they figured people wouldn't be too knowledgeable or maybe they were forced to put Christian values instead. Anyway he kills people instead of gifting them, but he makes a bet with an angel, which he loses, so for 1000 years, he has become good instead. 1000 years has passed, so Santa starts his killing spree again and it's up to one kid and his girlfriend to stop him.
The movie is full of inventive Christmas related kills and even goofier one liners. This is one of those movies that are so bad they are good, and you are glad that they exist. It doesn't require even much thought into watching it, in fact I was able to predict the ending right away. It is open ended, and there is a post credit scene that wrestling fans will get a kick out of.
If you haven't seen this yet, and want to have some humor for the holiday season with a topping of gore to boot, then Santa's Slay is for you. If you already seen it, feel free to leave your thoughts below!
