The Shed(Review)(Happy Halloween #6)[Terrifying Theatrical Tuesday]

Picking back off from where I left off last year for a monthly Halloween celebration, check out previous posts to see the reviews I did last October.

I greatly appreciate horror films that portray vampires as vicious cold blooded killers they are. The movies that give vampires their bite back. There is no romance, no love interest for the vampire to pine over. Just the need to kill and feed.

The Shed is about a teen boy named Stan and his best friend Dommer, who find themselves crapped on everywhere they look. They are both victimized by their classmates, the town folk, and worst of all their own families. One day, Stan discovers a vampire living in his shed, and it changes both of their lives forever.

The vampire in this film in scary as heck, make no bones about it. Stan understandably wants to dispatch the creature, but his friend Dommer sees the potential of turning things around where they are not the victims for once . You can only push someone so long before they fight back, so you can understand why Dommer would want to use the vampire to their advantage. But he doesn't understand the danger the creature represents.

This movie is good, but it is not perfect. For example, the movie follows the Buffy the Vampire Slayer rules of vampires. Direct sunlight is deadly to the vampires however indirect sunlight, which should still be a threat is nothing more than an inconvenience. However it does offer a heaping of blood and gore. I was thoroughly entertained especially when it explored the moral quandaries of how far is too far in seeking revenge against enemies who are everywhere you look.

If you like your vampires to actually have more bite, then I definitely recommend watching this one, it is available on Shudder. My boy Mike posted a 30 day trial promo code yesterday, so this would be the perfect time to use that to check The Shed out. If you have already seen this, feel free to leave your thoughts below!!

Till next time, Happy Halloween and stay scared!! -Tha Thrilla-
