The Thing Soundtrack Review[Musical Monday]

With the recent passing of Ennio Morricone, I thought this would be a perfect time to talk about his contribution to the horror genre, one of the best horror soundtracks in my opinion. This of course is his soundtrack to John Carpenter's The Thing

What's unique to mention is normally Carpenter scores his own films, but for this one, he decided it needed more of a unique sound, so instead he worked closely with Morricone to provide the soundtrack to The Thing. That ended up paying off handsomely as you will never hear anything close to what you will hear here. The score adds to the paranoia and tension throughout the film. Definitely hair raising and will illicit goosebumps just hearing the music alone.

Some of the standouts for me are "Main Theme(Desolation)", "Humanity", "Shape", "Eternity", and "Bestiality"

If you haven't heard this, and you are a horror fan, I first question as to what are you doing with your life, secondly I would run not walk to your nearest streaming service to give it a listen. I very highly recommend it.
